Fancy Dress Night October 2008

Halloween Fancy Dress Night

The Juniors enjoyed a very fun and noisy halloween party.  The boys (and staff) came along dressed up ready for fun.   This started very quickly with themed games including zombie tig, balloon pirates and mummy race where boys were wrapped up in toilet paper before our 'mummies' raced each other.   The boys moved on to some squad fun playing the mars bar game...sweets, fun and taught how to use a knife and fork while wearing gloves, hat and scarf...whats not to love?   While boys enjoyed this and a quick clean of the hall (12 rolls of toilet paper unwrapped makes a lot of mess!) the main event was set up.   An obstacle race with marshmallows, doughnuts and bobbing for apples all included, a very messy but fun game to play and watch!   A very happy group finished the evening with some refreshments and snacks and the announcement of our costume winners from each year group.   A very lively evening enjoyed by all !

Fire Station

Juniors at Milngavie Fire Station

The Juniors enjoyed a visit to the Milngavie Fire Station where they had an opportunity to try on the uniform, get to grips with the hose nozzles, prepare an accident victim ( a volunteer! ) for transportation on a back board and wash the cars in the car park.   On a more serious note the boys were given a talk on general fire safety and the importance of smoke alarms.  They were also told how dangerous "prank calls" can be and that they endanger lives.

If any parents need advice on providing smoke alarms or how to prepare a Fire Plan for use in an emergency please call the Fire Station as they will be happy to help.
